Hello, Readers!
With the beginning of the school year in full swing, we wanted to share a story with you all about trying new things this September.
Trying is Never a Waste of Time!
By Jen
One of the newer teachers we work with was feeling hesitant about booking time to talk. She mentioned, after we sat down together, that she was worried about "wasting my time.” I'm glad she still ended up booking because our conversation was super productive!
Since the beginning of the school year, she’s been pretty nervous about a recent overhaul of her school’s technology, doing things a certain way for as long as she can remember. Our recent relationship has given her the confidence to start adopting newer workflows and technologies. That, and the treats we keep bringing to the school 😉.
One of our topics of discussion was about her beloved document camera. As a Grade 1 teacher, it’s a tech tool she uses quite often. With a new Teacher iPad and Apple TV in her classroom, I knew her experience could be even better. Document cameras can be a pain to set up, and you’re still organizing papers, books, and other physical media. With an iPad, Apple TV and a $13 stand from Staples, we had a document scanning and annotating station!
Pair this set up with the right app… Notability and you’ll be digitizing your lessons.
With all this in mind, remember: trying and learning something new is never a waste of time!
Until next week,
The Classmate Team
