Last week, we explored how Linda's Grade 7 class brainstormed their project ideas. Now, with their projects complete, we have some awesome examples of how the students chose to showcase their research.
Throughout the past month, the class has delved into discussions about courage, inspiration, and standing up for one's values. Their assignment was to identify and research someone under 21 who embodies these qualities. What made the results particularly meaningful was how many students connected with young activists whose causes resonated with their own beliefs and interests.
Breaking News Report
Students produced professional-style news segments that incorporated authentic footage, reporting, and expert commentary to create dynamic mini-documentaries about their subjects' achievements and ongoing impact.
Newspapers
Students crafted compelling full-page spreads that wove together their chosen changemaker's personal journey, key achievements, and lasting impact β bringing their stories to life through detailed reporting and creative layout design.
TEDTalk-Style Presentations
Drawing inspiration from the famous speaker series, students delivered powerful presentations that combined personal narrative with calls to action, sharing not just facts but the emotional heart of their subject's mission.
Digital Scrapbooks
Through a vibrant mix of photos, quotes, and artistic elements, students created immersive digital scrapbooks that captured pivotal moments and milestones in their chosen activist's life story, creating a rich visual narrative.
It was amazing to see how each student put their own creative spin on presenting their research. But what really stood out was watching them connect with other young people who are out there making waves in the world. These projects did more than just teach them about activism β they showed our students that you're never too young to stand up for what you believe in and make a real difference.

Junior Taskmaster βΌοΈ
We're inspired by the zany tasks these kids get up to in Junior Taskmaster. If you're familiar with the British variety show, you'll love it's reimagined format for kids.
