You might already know that businesses big and small use Canva everyday to create branding and ads. This week, Dylan worked with a bunch of Sixth Grade Entrepreneurs to create their own video advertisements! Check out how they did it!
Little Entrepreneurs Make a Big Splash

One morning, two Grade 6 classes joined up to explore creating short animated Ads in Canva. The classes were working on their entrepreneur projects, so many of the students had products or services that they were designing and creating plans for. This included things like carnival games, fidget toys, skincare products, and food!
I spent about twenty minutes going over:
- 🎯 The goal for the project.
- 🧰 Some of the tools they could use (let me tell you, custom animations are a hit).
- ✨ And the aesthetic they might aim for.
We then had the classes split off into their groups to create their ads. Oh, I also limited them to 15 seconds, which was met with 😱 gasps and groans. So I followed up and asked them if anyone wanted to watch thirty one-minute long ads, or thirty fifteen-second ads. Obviously, the latter was the preferred choice. 😏
As I walked around the two classes I offered support and answered questions for the students. The teachers were really excited to see what their students would come up with. Both classes had been using Canva all year to create posters, logos, and other static images, but this was the first time they were using video. From what I saw, there will be some really neat projects!
What a great example of a classroom project that ties into the challenges of the real world! It’s also a good reminder that the tools we’re already using can be used in such a variety of different ways.
